Joining in on the Great Emanicipation trek: The Camino of Canada

Inspired by my son’s vision quest, and the book he began reading by Shirley MaClaine, I have decide to plan and organize this Canadian’s Version of the Camino. I will speak more on the subject when I get the book in my hand to reference. The book is journal of a famous pilgramage that is stretches many miles from the border of France and through Norther Spain. I, upon beginning to read the book, became inspired and announced to my son that I was interested in doing the Camino…for next summer. This was Jared’s dream to do with a good friend.

I have decided, he should have his own dream…and I should live mine. So…I had always been interested in finishing the parts of the Bruce Trail, I have not been on. Though I have been on the Bruce many times, most of the mileage logged on the Bruce Peninsula, especially Cypress Lake. I had taken many good friends, family and one’s I love to this awesome and “magical place”. I say magical, as I would say something incredible happens after a visit…and the visit this summer…I would say the “magic” is reflected in the flow of creativity and the progress of the book.

So, I will be highlighting this part for all readers to see. There is an open invitation to any and all to join me on any part of the Bruce Trail you may be interested in visiting. There will be a day of “lovefest” that I trust is understood as…empowerment toward being a more loving soul.

Love for all humanity and all other inhabitants of this planet (and our water sources) will be kept dearly in the hearts of those that wish to hike any distance at all with us. I do plan to have close friends and family divide up their time during the summer…to spend time and help replentish supplies.

My hope is that no one would think they are not welcome to join in for a day, a week or if there was anyone who could (or is interested in the entire 40 day journey) please contact me as soon as possible. There will be days of 5 mile hikes, but many that will be 10 miles or more. All those that ambitious (or looking for a goal to accomplish) please prepare for this (I will share a planned training program later). What is most important is, please arrange your own transportation and bring your own food and water. Some “backpacks” will be available as loaners…a couple of sleeping bags will also be available to loan, but I encourage you to buy or borrow one from someone…though many may want to just join in for a “day hike” or two. I will be posting the Best Choice, that will be offered there. Tobermory to Cypress Lake, Cypress Lake to “Storm Haven”…two early choices, while I would love to have as many as interested to join in during any part of the last stretch to “Niagra Falls”. I will keep this trek to 5 miles and there will be a hotel designated as the “afterglow” resort centre. My thoughts, I would like a pool, hot shower and jacuzzi…as just one of the celebratory rewards to myself.

So again, if this stirs some interest, please talk to me by phone 1-519-601-1017 or dscrarn@aol.com

The finish will be on the Labour Day weekend…so think of booking into a Niagara Falls Hotel…or camping ASAP…as you know, popular destination, popular week-end.

The “launch” out of Tobermory will be about mid July…I will post that date, as soon as it is calculated out.

I will also post the “Hotel in Niagara Falls” as soon as it is booked.

till more info available,
